Simple Past Tense dipakai ketika kita menceritakan sebuah kejadian atau insiden yang telah terjadi pada waktu yang telah lampau di waktu yang pasti.
Ciri dari Simple Past Tense sendiri yaitu penggunaan kata kerja bentuk kedua, serta penggunaan kata keterangan waktu (adverb) menyerupai yesterday, one hour ago, two days ago, three days ago, last week, last month, last year, last December, last night, last Saturday, last meeting, long time ago, etc.
